The entire production community in our hometown Knoxville, Tennessee, was shocked and overjoyed when Discovery announced they would be making their National HQ home in Knoxville.
After acquiring Scripps Networks in 2018--infamously owning HGTV, DIY Network, Travel Channel, and Food Network--Discovery became the largest lifestyle content-producing media company in the world, owning close to 100 networks and broadcasting in 220 countries and territories, in 50 languages.
Digital is the new-age platform for all biggest media ventures these days, and Discovery has always prided itself on platform and tech innovation. When they acquired some of the most successful lifestyle brands in the world from Scripps, their digital department grew tremendously--and they were ready to grow their structure with it.
This project is one of our proudest accomplishments, requiring a crew of over 40 people and shot over a week in several locations, following multiple character storylines. We even had to real-life create a robotic dog treat dispensing machine--this project was the real deal!
We partnered with Discovery’s digital and graphics teams to bring this rebrand announcement video to life. We couldn’t have found a more exciting way to get to know Discovery’s new digital structure, and to meet so many of the talented, innovative people joining the team here in Knoxville.
